  • Fairy tales
  • Song titles (sheet music or Music CDs)
  • Supreme Court cases
  • Collective biographies
Contents notes are not required for the following
  • Poetry
  • Speeches (EXCEPTION: Representative American Speeches)
  • Essays (EXCEPTION: Best American Essays)
  • Excerpts
  • Complete works
  • Myths
  • Fake-books
  • Encyclopedic reference works
  • Miscellaneous writings— quotations, letters, anecdotes
  • Chapter headings
