"Continuing resource. A bibliographic resource that is issued over time with no predetermined conclusion. Continuing resources include serials (successively issued) and ongoing integrating resources (updating loose-leafs, updating Web sites)." —AACR2R, 2005 update, Glossary
"The rules [for continuing resources] also cover the description of the following categories of finite resources (i.e. those with a predetermined conclusion): resources that exhibit characteristics of serials, such as suffessive issues, numbering, and frequency, but whose duration is limited (e.g. newsletters of events); reprints of serials; and finite integrating resources. [They] do not apply to the description of multipart items." —AACR2R, 2005 update, 12.0A1
