Awards note
Add Awards notes in the MARC 586 field as directed in Bibliographic Formats and Standards. This note becomes another access point in the bibliographic record.
Libraries are encouraged to add this note when an award winner is announced if it is not already in the bibliographic record.
To save time and space, only the most important awards under each category should be cited. Cite only award winners, not nominees who did not win.[1]

Only add a note for movies awarded Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor and Best Actress in a Leading Role, Best Actor and Best Actress in a Supporting Role, Best Foreign-Language Film, Best Animated Feature Film, Best Documentary Film (Feature), and Best Documentary Film (Short Subject) by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.[1]

- For films winning multiple Academy Awards, only cite the major awards above. When a movie wins for two or more in those categories, combine them in one note.

Only add a note for television shows awarded Best Drama Series and Best Comedy Series from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.[1]
